Kids’ lesson
Week 1: God Made Me!
This lesson goes with week 1 of the All for His Glory sermon series, so kids and parents learn the same truth on the same Sunday.

Leader notes for every lesson
- Never comment on a child’s body, size or weight, or on what they eat. Talk about God’s gifts and healthy habits, not “good” and “bad” kids.
- Check allergies before serving any snack, and have a nut-free option.
- Children do not fast from food. In week 3, kids give up a toy or screen time instead.
- Include every child in games. Offer a seated role for kids who can’t run.
1. Welcome game (10 minutes)
“God Made My…” A twist on Simon Says. The leader calls out, “God made my hands… clap them!” “God made my feet… stomp them!” “God made my eyes… blink them!” “God made my mouth… smile big!” Speed up as you go. Kids who can’t stand can do every move sitting down.
End by asking: “Who made all these parts?” (God!)
2. Bible story (10 minutes)
Long, long ago, there was nothing at all. Then God spoke, and there was light! God made the sky and the sea, the trees and the flowers, the fish and the birds and all the animals. And every time, God looked at what He made and said, “It is good!”
Then God did something extra special. He scooped up dust from the ground and shaped it into a man. God made his hands and feet, his eyes and ears, his heart and his tummy. Then God leaned close and breathed into him, and Adam took his very first breath! (Take a big breath together.)
God made Adam and Eve in His own image. That means they were made to know God and love God. And when God looked at everything He had made, including people, He didn’t just say “good.” He said it was very good!
God made you too. He planned your smile, your laugh, and the color of your eyes. Some bodies are tall, some are short. Some run fast, some use wheelchairs, some wear glasses. Every one of them was made by God, and He loves every one.
Talk about it
- What did God use to make Adam? What did He breathe into him?
- What did God say when He looked at the people He made?
- What is your favorite thing your body can do? Say “Thank You, God!” for it.
- How can we take care of the bodies God gave us? (sleep, eat good food, play outside, brush teeth)
3. Memory verse (5 minutes)
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14
Body-part verse: Say the verse together, pointing to a different part of your body on each phrase: “I praise you” (hands up), “for I am fearfully” (hands on heart), “and wonderfully made” (point to your whole self). “Psalm 139:14” (hold up fingers). Repeat three times, faster each time.
4. Craft or coloring (10 minutes)
Handprint poster: Help each child press a painted handprint (or trace their hand) on paper. Write across the top: “God made me wonderfully!” Let them decorate it with stars and hearts. Or use the coloring page.
5. Snack time (5 minutes)
Fruit faces: Give each child a rice cake or small tortilla with a thin layer of cream cheese or yogurt. Let them make a face with banana slices (eyes), blueberries (nose) and an apple slice (smile). Thank God for the food first.
6. Pray together
Dear God, thank You for making me. Thank You for my hands and feet, my eyes and ears, and my heart that beats. Help me take care of the body You gave me. Amen.
Take-home note for parents
Today your child learned that God made their whole body and called it “very good” (Genesis 1:31). Try this week: at bedtime, ask your child to name one thing their body did today and thank God for it together. Memory verse: Psalm 139:14.
