Bulletin: announcing the series
ALL FOR HIS GLORY · STARTS [DATE]
What does following Jesus have to do with what we eat, how we move and how we rest? Beginning [DATE], we’re starting a five-week series on honoring God with our whole selves. It isn’t a diet, and it isn’t about anyone’s weight. It’s about stewardship, and about a grace that meets us right where we are. Come as you are. “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Cor 10:31)
Bulletin: short version (25 words)
All for His Glory begins [DATE]. Five weeks on honoring God with your body, your food and your rest. Grace, not guilt. Everyone welcome.
Pulpit announcement (45 seconds)
“Starting [DATE], we’re going to spend five weeks in a series called All for His Glory. We’ll look at what the Bible actually says about our bodies, our food, fasting, exercise and rest. Let me say clearly what this is not: it is not a diet, we will never weigh anyone, and no one is going to be made to feel ashamed. I’m going to be working on this right alongside you, and I’ll tell you honestly how it’s going. Each week we’ll give you one small step to try. Bring a friend, and come hungry.”

Subject: Something new starting [DATE]
Dear [CHURCH] family,
Beginning [DATE], we’re starting a five-week series called All for His Glory, on what it means to honor God with the bodies He gave us. We’ll talk about food, fasting, exercise and rest, and we’ll look at what Scripture actually says.
I want to be clear about something up front. This is not a diet program. We will not weigh anyone, compare anyone, or hold anything like a “biggest loser” contest. Some of us are managing health situations we didn’t choose, and this series is for us too. The point is faithfulness, not the number on a scale.
Each week we’ll offer one small step to try, along with a group study, a kids’ lesson, and ideas for your family. Our leaders are taking these steps too, and we’ll be honest with you about how it goes.
Come as you are, and bring someone with you.
In Christ,
[PASTOR NAME]

Announcing a church-wide fast
From [START DATE] to [END DATE] we’re setting aside time as a church to pray and fast together. There are several ways to take part, including fasting from something other than food, and we’ll help you choose one. If you’re pregnant or nursing, managing diabetes, taking medication, have a history of an eating disorder, or are under 18, please talk with your doctor first, or choose a non-food fast. Details and a daily guide: [LINK]
Announcing new food guidelines
You may notice a few changes at our meals: water and unsweetened drinks on every table, fruit and vegetables at every potluck, and cooking with olive oil or beef tallow in our kitchen. Birthday cake isn’t going anywhere. We just want the healthy choice to be an easy one. Read our food guidelines: [LINK]
Inviting people to the health team
We’re forming a small team to help our church care well for the bodies God gave us. No expertise required, and this isn’t about anyone’s fitness level. About two hours a month. If you’re interested, talk with [NAME] or email [EMAIL].
